Abstract
The order parameter and orientation of the ''long axis'' of a choleste ryl myristate molecule have been determined by the second, fourth, and sixth moments of the H-1 NMR line of a ''polycrystalline'' sample in the smectic phase. The effects of molecular diffusion in the cholester ic phase are discussed.
