Aci-9-nitrofluorene potassium salt crystallizes as a hexamer around a
polyion aggregate [K-6(+)(O-12)(6)(-)] which in addition is solvated b
y one dioxane and two tetrahydrofuran molecules. The lipophilic skin {
C77H72} limits the size of the thermodynamically favorable metal oxide
cluster and provides a molecular self-organization principle for the
crystallization of analogous compounds.
