J. Jaroszynski et al., INFLUENCE OF S-D EXCHANGE INTERACTION ON UNIVERSAL CONDUCTANCE FLUCTUATIONS IN CD1-XMNXTE-IN, Physical review letters, 75(17), 1995, pp. 3170-3173
We present millikelvin studies of diffusive charge transport in submic
ron wires of n(+)-CdTe and n(+)-Cd0.99Mn0.01Te epilayers. In contrast
to expectations, the paramagnetic Mn impurities leave a mean amplitude
of reproducible magnetoconductance fluctuations unchanged but decreas
e the fluctuation correlation field. These findings are interpreted by
invoking a new driving mechanism of the magnetoconductance fluctuatio
ns-the redistribution of the electrons between energy levels of the sy
stem, induced by the giant s-d exchange spin splitting.
