TROPICAL AUSTRALIAN FRESH-WATER FUNGI .7. NEW GENERA AND SPECIES OF ASCOMYCETES

During investigations into the mycoflora of a freshwater river system, several interesting fungi were collected from submerged wood. The fun gi, all ascomycetes, include members of three new genera, six new spec ies and one new record. Aquasphaeria dimorphospora gen. et sp. nov., C lohiesia corticola gen. et. sp. nov. and Potamomyces armatisporus gen, et. sp. nov. are new genera and are described and illustrated with di fferential interference micrographs. New species include Annulatascus biatriisporus, Iodosphaeria aquatica and Massarina bipolaris, while Tr ematosphaeria confusa (Garov.) Boise & D. Hawksw. is reported from Aus tralia for the first time.
