Abstract
The genus Fasciatispora K.D. Hyde is diagnosed with seven species acce pted. Descriptions and illustrations of these taxa are given, of which F. pandanicola and F. sabalicola are described as new species and F. bicincta, F. petrakii, and F. melanosticta are newly combined. Fasciat ispora belongs in the Amphisphaeriaceae and is characterized by having immersed ascomata, cylindrical unitunicate asci, with a J+, subapical ring and brown ascospores, with a pallid central band. The genus is p redominantly known to occur on palms. A key to accepted species of Fas cintispora is given. The type species of Amphisphaerella (Sacc.) Kirsc hst. is illustrated for comparison.
