Abstract
The comparative study of the first lower molar (M(1)) morphology shows that the one of Microtus (Terricola) pyrenaicus gerbei is quite diffe rent from the one of M. (T.) pyrenaicus. The character analysis also s hows that M. (T.) pyrenaicus gerbei has a less developped anterior par t and a more open anterior loop of the M(1) that M. (T.) pyrenaicus. T he synthesis of these analyses confirms that M. (T.) pyrenaicus gelbei is at least a different subspecies of M. (T.) pyrenaicus.
