Abstract
6-Fluoroshikimates have interesting antibiotic properties. The enzymat ic preparation of (6R)- and (6S)-fluoroshikimates from 3-fluorophospho enolpyruvate is described. The multistep enzymatic conversion is follo wed by UV and F-19 NMR spectroscopy.
