Y2BaCuO5 powder dispersed in a fluid resin has been submitted to an in
tense magnetic field during polymerisation and studied by EPR spectros
copy. The Y2BaCuO5 phase aligns its b crystallographic axis parallel t
o the applied magnetic field. This remarkable property is discussed wi
th respect to the peritectic reaction used for texturing YBa2Cu3O7-del
ta which involves Y2BaCuO5 particles as primary phase.
