THE RUMEX-ALPINUS COMMUNITIES IN SLOVAKIA

In the article, all relevant phytocoenological releves of both anthrop ozoogenic and natural riparian plant communities with Rumex alpinus fr om Slovakia and adjacent Polish part of West Carpathians were compared . The releves were classified into two earlier described associations (Rumicetum alpini BEGER 1922 emend. BRAUN-BLANQUET 1972 and Aconito fi rmi-Rumicetum alpini UNAR in UNAR et al. 1985) on the basis of differe nces found. The data from Alps, Sudeten Mountains, and the other Carpa thians Mountains were considered. Within the last association, two new subassociations were described: Aconito-Rumicetum myosotidetosum nemo rosae and Aconito-Rumicetum geranietosum sylvatici. Associations were classified into two alliances (Rumicion alpini RUBEL ex KLIKA in KLIKA et HADAC 1944, Petasition officinalis SILL. 1933) and this resulted i n the suggestion of classification of the Rumex alpinus communities al so into higher units.
