VEGETATION UNITS OF THE MORAVA RIVER FLOODPLAIN ECOTONES AREA

The aerial photographs, elevation map as well as the results of botani cal field observations were used for compiling of the vegetation map o f the inundation area of the Morava river. The vegetation cover has be en evaluated in the form of fourteen mapping units: Vegetation of rive r courses, Aquatic vegetation, Tall reeds, Medium-tall waterside commu nities, Eutrophic humid grasslands, Oligotrophic humid grasslands, Aba ndoned fields, Field crops, Salix X rubens dominated woods, Populus ni gra dominated woods, Fraxinus angustifolia dominated woods, Tree solit aries, Tree and shrub lines. Mapping units are characterized by floris tic composition and vegetation structure as well as the ecological pro perties of the habitat and by its management. The small-plot stands ar e illustrated in the form of vegetation transect.
