J. Hrib et al., TESTING OF EMBRYOGENIC AND NONEMBRYOGENIC CALLI OF EUROPEAN BLACK PINE (PINUS-NIGRA ARN) FOR DEFENSE REACTIONS TO THE FUNGUS PHAEOLUS-SCHWEINITZII, BIOLOGIA, 50(4), 1995, pp. 403-410
Embryogenic and non-embryogenic calli of European black pine (Pinus ni
gra ARN.) were tested on defense reactions to the fungus Phaeolus schw
einitzii (FR.) PAT. Embryogenic callus lines initiated from immature z
ygotic embryos and consisted of suspensor-like cells and embryos in ea
rly developmental stage have already shown weak defense reactions. Non
- embryogenic lines derived from mature zygotic embryos had remarkabl
e defense reactions. Our results suggest that the constitutive defense
system of plant has already been formed during the embryo development
