M. Umezu, MASS DEPENDENCE OF CONVECTIVE CORE OVERSHOOTING IN THE LOW-INTERMEDIATE MASS STARS, Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 276(4), 1995, pp. 1287-1294
Several authors have indicated that convective overshooting is very sm
all for stars in the mass range of approximately 1.1-1.6 M(.), althoug
h these authors insist that larger overshooting occurs in more massive
stars. In this paper, it is indicated that this small extent of conve
ctive core overshooting can be accounted for by using the non-local mi
xing length theory in conjunction with the turbulent viscous dissipati
on.
