Abstract
Room temperature continuous-wave upconversion laser oscillation at 635 nm is reported for a Yb3+ sensitised Pr3+-doped fluorozirconate fibre cavity pumped by a single semiconductor laser operating at a wavelengt h near 860nm. Using a similar setup, upconversion lasing at a waveleng th of 602nm has also been obtained.
