Abstract
Four principally different methods for age determination of children b y means of teeth have been tested on a Swedish population. 197 panoram ic radiographs of children aged 5, 6, 9 and 12 years were collected an d examined by 13 independent pedodontists, radiologists and forensic o dontologists. The results showed a satisfactory precision for those me thods which have been developed on a Scandinavian population, but a me thod from a French-Canadian population showed a consistent over-estima tion when used on the Swedish children.
