A study of two-dimensional dynamic heat and mass transfer in a metal-h
ydrogen reactor during desorption is presented in this paper. A mathem
atical model has been established and solved numerically by the method
of finite domains. The numerical simulation is used to present the ti
me-space evolution of the temperature, the pressure and the hydride de
nsity in the reactor and to determine the sensitivity to some paramete
rs (reactor geometry, outlet pressure, temperature of heating fluid an
d heat conductivity). This simulation allows us to study the effect of
neglecting the term related to heat transport by convection in the mo
del.
