T. Romer et al., ON THE VALUE OF SERUM-PLACENTAL PROTEIN-1 4 MEASUREMENT FOR THE DIFFERENTIAL-DIAGNOSIS OF ABNORMAL EARLY-PREGNANCY, Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde, 55(9), 1995, pp. 490-492
Single measurements of hCG and placental protein 14 were carried out i
n 32 patients with tubal pregnancies, in 38 patients with spontaneous
abortion and 28 women with normal intrauterine pregnancies from the 5t
h to the 7th week of pregnancy. HCG-measurement could only show signif
icant differences between normal and abnormal early pregnancies. PP 14
-measurements showed significant differences between all groups. Low c
oncentrations of serum PP 14 point to an ectopic pregnancy.
