Abstract
Children who are dependent on medical technology present unique challe nges to families and professionals who attempt to care for them at hom e, This longitudinal, exploratory study examines the placement threate ning crises experienced over an eighteen-month period by four such fam ilies in Minnesota, The findings encourage development of a family sup port model of placement prevention for this population, as opposed to a crisis intervention model.
