Pt hybrid catalysts containing Y zeolite as main component and sulfate
-promoted zirconia or acidic/mesoporous silica-alumina as co-catalyst
show enhanced activity in the hydroisomerization/hydrocracking of n-oc
tane. This synergistic effect is due to the surface acidic and textura
l properties of the co-catalyst. The best co-catalyst must have a high
surface acidity, a large surface area and an open pore system. The be
st Pt hybrid catalyst had the Pt species homogeneously spread over the
three components of the catalyst.
