In attempt to improve the owner's information, one hundred and seventy
-five cases with mammary tumors have been an alysed retrospectively co
ncerning their recurrence rate and the patient's postoperative surviva
l time in relation to the histological type of the neoplasms. Close co
rrelations between these factors could be demonstrated in this study.
False lactation or environmental factors have no influence on the type
of mammary tumors. According to the high incidence and importance of
mammary neoplasms it proves to be mandatory, to perform standardized,
centrally operated research work on factors of influence and the cours
e of postoperative development, to improve registration of the epidemi
ological correlations.
