Abstract
A study was performed in 5 mechanically ventilated patients with nosoc omial sinusitis. They were treated with teicoplanin 6 mg/kg, administe red each 12 hours. Dosages of teicoplanin were performed in the serum and in the liquid drained from sinus before and after each injection, for the first six injections. Teicoplanin concentration was 4 +/- 2 mg /l at the 60th hours. We conclude that teicoplanin can be used to trea t patients with nosocomial sinusitis due to sensitive bacteria.
