Abstract
Thermally induced bistability in a Tm, Ho:YAG microlaser has been obse rved. Theoretical results obtained from a simple plane-nave model are found to describe adequately the experimental transmission and reflect ion bistability data. The effect of pump interference on the single-mo de operation of the laser is discussed. (C) 1995 Optical Society of Am erica
