Abstract
The authors investigated the composition and quantitative indices of c ommunities of soil algae in the territory of various industrial enterp rises in Ekaterinburg. It war. shown that in conditions of strong poll ution with heavy metals and acids communities are formed with a predom inance of green algae. In the care of pollution with organic substance s and alkalization of the soil, blue-green algae predominate in the al gae groupings.
