A review is presented of turbulent transport phenomena in flames. Both
large-scale turbulent transport and small-scale mixing processes are
considered and various mechanisms of interaction between combustion an
d turbulent flow are identified. Flame-surface density descriptions of
turbulent combustion at high Damkohler numbers are discussed in detai
l and some topics are identified which require further attention. Emph
asis is placed on problems of premixed turbulent combustion.
