M. Knichel et al., UTILIZATION OF A SELF-ASSEMBLED PEPTIDE MONOLAYER FOR AN IMPEDIMETRICIMMUNOSENSOR, Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical, 28(2), 1995, pp. 85-94
Layers of a thiol-containing synthetic peptide constituting an epitope
of the foot-and-mouth-disease virus are formed on gold electrodes via
self-assembly. The immunological reactivity of the modified electrode
s towards a monoclonal antibody is confirmed by performing an ELISA. T
he binding of a specific antibody to epitope-modified gold electrodes
can be detected by measuring changes of the Faradaic impedance.
