Creep-recovery tests were conducted on single canola kernels. The samp
les were conditioned by bringing them to equilibrium through the adsor
ption or desorption process to the same final moisture. Prior to the c
reep-recovery tests, kernels were subjected to cyclic loading to minim
ize the influence of plasticity. The comparison of the elasticity rati
o and modulus of elasticity was made between the adsorption and desorp
tion groups. The ratio of elasticity was from 18 to 38% higher for ker
nels brought to equilibrium through adsorption than through desorption
.
