Abstract
An axially symmetric exact solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations is obtained and is interpreted to give the gravitational and electroma gnetic fields of a charged tachyon. Switching off the charge parameter yields the solution for the uncharged tachyon which was earlier obtai ned by Vaidya. The null surfaces for the charged tachyon are discussed .
