W. Tanzer et A. Burkhardt, MODIFICATION OF COPOLYAMIDES VIA POLYMERA NALOGOUS REACTION WITH GLYCIDYL ETHERS, Journal fur praktische Chemie, Chemiker-Zeitung, 337(7), 1995, pp. 576-581
The reaction of copolyamides with phenyl glycidyl ether (PGE) and glyc
idyl oxypropyl-3-triethoxy silane (GPTS) in the presence of anionic ca
talysts leads to the formation of grafted polyamides. Octanoic acid oc
tylamide (OOA) and a copolyamide of polyamides 6, 66 and 11 were used
as polyamide model compounds. The anionic centres were introduced by r
eaction of the amides with sodium methoxide in boiling toluene. About
15% of the amide groups react with PGE and OPTS. In the presence of OP
TS, polycondensation reactions occur and crosslinked products are form
ed.
