Fe. Jamil et al., IDENTIFICATION OF PATHOTYPES IN ASCOCHYTA-RABIEI (PASS) LAB, THE CAUSE OF CHICKPEA BLIGHT IN PAKISTAN, Pakistan journal of botany, 27(1), 1995, pp. 193-199
One hundred and two isolates of Ascochyta rabiei differing in their cu
ltural characters were selected for pathotype analysis from a large co
llection of isolates obtained from chickpea growing areas of Pakistan
during 1984 - 92. On the basis of pathogenicity on 11 chickpea differe
ntials, the isolates were classified into 8 pathogenic groups. Out of
102 isolates tested, only 6 were highly virulent, 8 least virulent whe
reas others were in between the two extremes.
