Abstract
The epimeric pyrazolines 2 and 3 of the sesquiterpene lactone enhydrin (1) have been prepared. Pyrolysis of the major pyrazoline (2) gives t he stereomeric ethylidene-gamma-lactones 4 and 5, while the photolysis of 2 yields the cyclopropyl product 6.
