Abstract
An analysis of the steady state creep data of Al-5Mg/Al2O3f composite shows the substructure invariant creep mechanism to be operative. This is consistent with the dislocation creep mechanism map and a previous evaluation of steady state creep mechanism in 6061 Al/SiC composites. A temperature dependent threshold stress exists for the steady state creep mechanism.
