Abstract
Electronic publishing has served advantages over traditional publishin g. Not only does electronic publishing save time and money during the publication process, but also additional media Like video and audio as well as interactivity can enhance the quality of information presenta tion considerably. However, for the persons involved in the publicatio n process, electronic publishing demands a redesign of their working p rocess. Especially, authors need to create different concepts (for pro cessing and presenting information) and to apply new technologies (suc h as software tools to integrate the new media). The following paper a nalyses the new working process of authors and presents existing worki ng environments for the creation of interactive multimedia documents.
