Abstract
The temperature dependence of rotational relaxation for the J = 1 --> 0 transition of nitrous oxide (N2O) in mixtures with nitrogen has been investigated by means of microwave transient emission signals. The si gnals were analysed by assuming a dependence of the relaxation rate on the speed of emitting molecules. Effects arising from the cell geomet ry are taken into account.
