Abstract
This paper introduces a knowledge integration tool: the intelligent on -line monitoring and control system. Thr system provides powerful oper ation support functions and optimizes pulp and paper processes with on -line advice and control functions. The design of the operation suppor t system is flexible and allows for changes in process equipment, prod uct grades or operating philosophy.
