Abstract
We have found an unusual narrow transmission window in the blue in the absorption spectrum of tetramethylammonium tetrabromocuprate, {N(CH3) (4)}2CuBr4. This transmission window disappears at about 2.5 GPa when pressure is applied, indicating the occurrence of an until-now unknown phase transition at this pressure.
