MICROPALEONTOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF THE MESOZOIC AND CENOZOIC AT THE GEOLOGICAL-INSTITUTE, RUSSIAN-ACADEMY-OF-SCIENCES

The paper gives a review of micropaleontological investigations of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic that have been carried out at the Laboratory of Micropaleontologoy of the Geological Institute, Russian Academy of Sc iences (GIN RAS) since the 1930s when the laboratory was established. It is shown how the spectrum of problems under study and the researche d fossil groups and geography changed and expanded. The major stages i n these investigations are defined.
