Abstract
Zr, Hf and REE behavior in sediments and nodules of the transpacific t ransect (Hawaii - Mexico) was observed. In the eastern part sediments have REE patterns with a negative Ce anomaly (Ce/Ce is down to 0,52) that seems to be related with the input of hydrothermal Fe oxyhydroxid es. In Hawaiian zone sediments sediments are characterized by positive Eu anomaly (Eu/Eu is up to 1,43). All studied nodules have positive Ce anomaly, even if it is negative in sediments. Zr/Hf ratio rises fro m 33 in near-shore sediments to 40-45 in pelagic area that may be resu lt from increasing of hydrogenous fraction. This point of view is supp orted by nodule composition (Zr/Hf ratio is 50-73).
