Abstract
We construct a theory of the influence of random structural inhomogene ities of the tunnel barrier on the localized states induced by supercu rrent in Josephson junctions. in the limit of small fluctuations of th e barrier potential, we derive a general formula for the energy of a q uasi-discrete level. We show that shift and damping of the localized s tate occur owing to tunneling with the non-conservation of the momentu m component parallel to the barrier.
