Abstract
In October 1993, the King Air research aircraft of the University of W yoming visited McGill University in Montreal, Canada. As part of a Nat ional Science Foundation-sponsored educational initiative, graduate st udents in McGill's Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences plan ned and executed research flights using the King Air. This article des cribes the project, student preparations, and research flights, and co nsiders the benefits of the initiative. Some thoughts are offered on w hat was learned and on ways to improve such a project in the future.
