A model is being developed for the electrostatic loudspeaker, which in
corporates simultaneously the mechanical, acoustical, and electrical b
ehavior of the diaphragm. The nonlinear model can be solved fairly acc
urately in the steady state and is used for calculating the frequency-
and level-dependent sensitivity and distortion for an infinite-strip
push-pull electrostatic loudspeaker. The results are compared with pre
viously published and new improved small-signal approximations.
