Various heat pumping processes are studied at C-4 separations in order
to significantly contribute to the rational use of energy. The influe
nce of heat pump type on the energetic and economic aspects is present
ed and the water management aspects of the technologies are indicated.
From economic standpoint the different absorption heat pumping scheme
s proved to be the processes of choice for C-4 separations but from th
e water management aspects the three mechanical heat pumping schemes b
ecame more favorable. All heat pumping systems show a reasonable energ
y household and better economic figures than the conventional design,
using only steam and cooling water.
