Abstract
In the present paper new time-optimal strategies for product changeove r operations for distillation columns are presented. Extensive experim ental and theoretical studies in the lab scale have been carried out t o investigate and to test these strategies. On this basis these strate gies have been tested on a multi-stage production plant. They show cle arly a reduction of time needed in the order of up to 50-70% compared with a conventional product changeover procedure.
