H. Oishi et al., SEPIC-DERIVED 3-PHASE SINUSOIDAL RECTIFIER OPERATING IN DISCONTINUOUSCURRENT CONDUCTION MODE, IEE proceedings. Electric power applications, 142(4), 1995, pp. 239-245
The gaper presents a novel three-phase single-way sinusoidal rectifier
to reduce supply current distortions and low power factor operations
with diode bridge rectifiers. The circuit configuration is based on th
e cascade combination of a diode bridge and a single-ended primary ind
uctor convertor, in which a single power switching device provides the
necessary control of the currents. If a simple pulsewidth modulation
with uniform duty factor is introduced and if the rectifier is operate
d in discontinuous current conduction mode, the supply currents can be
sinusoidally waveshaped with a near unity power factor. Moreover, ste
p-up and step, down characteristics of output voltage can easily be obt
ained. The experimental and simulated results confirm the relevance of
the presented configuration as an useful rectifier with sinusoidal su
pply currents and step-up/down output voltage regulation.
