Abstract
Reaction of CpTiMe(3) with B(C6F5)(3) results in methyl abstraction a nd formation of the compound [CpTiMe(2)][MeB(C6F5)(3)]. The thus form ed 10-electron, cationic species [CpTiMe(2)](+) is an excellent initi ator for polymerization of norbornene via Ziegler and ring opening met hasis processes and of 1,5-hexadiene via cyclopolymerization and Ziegl er processes.
