Abstract
We have shown in a previous paper that iron can be grown in a low-spin ferromagnetic bet phase in (100) Felr superlattices. Additional resul ts on this system are given in this paper. The very good quality of th e superlattices is shown to be due to the two-dimensional growth of bo th Fe on Ir and Ir on Fe. The ferromagnetic order is confirmed by Arro tt plot experiments. Two magnetically dead layers are observed, which makes theoretical analysis of the magnetic properties difficult.
