Abstract
Multilayered films with a combination of ferromagnetic semiconductor ( EuO) and non-magnetic insulator (MgO) have been prepared by a molecula r beam epitaxy (MBE) method. Although the stacking of the EuO atomic p lanes showed a preferred orientation, epitaxial growth has not been ob served. The EuO layers as thin as 1.0 nm were ferromagnetic and their Curie temperature (T-C) was approximately the same as in the bulk. The coercive force increases significantly as the EuO layer thickness dec reases.
