Abstract
The complex reflectance ratio rho(lambda) of ultrathin ( < 3 nm) epita xial Fe films on Au and Ag was measured by in-situ spectroscopic ellip sometry. From the observed rho(lambda), the effective dielectric const ant epsilon spectra of upper Fe layers were deduced, which turn out to be different from those of bulk Fe.
