By using a generalized relativistic quark pair creation model (QPCM),
the hadronic decay processes of psi(4030), assigned as the 3S state of
<c(c)over bar>, are investigated. The relative rates of psi(4030)--><
D(D)over bar>, <D(D)over bar>+<(D)over bar D*>, <D*(D)over bar*>, and
in particular Ds+Ds- are calculated and compared with data. The nodes
of the radially excited wavefunctions of charmonium states are found
to be significant for these decay processes. Considering the SU(3) sup
pression factor of similar to 3 for the s quark pair creation relative
to the u and d quarks, we obtain sigma(e(+)e(-)-->psi(4030)-->Ds+Ds-)
similar to 0.9 nb.
