Abstract
The article deals with microstructure and cutting properties of chemic ally modified high speed steels produced via powder metallurgy. The st arting high speed steel powders were obtained via atomization under ra pid solidification conditions. PM high speed steels consolidated using PM extrusion showed 3-times better cutting life when comparing with h igh speed steel produced via melt metallurgy.
