Z. Targonski et J. Pielecki, EFFECT OF THERMOCHEMICAL TREATMENT PARAME TERS AND ENZYMATIC-HYDROLYSIS OF WHEAT-STRAW ON SIMPLE SUGAR YIELD, Przemysl Chemiczny, 74(7), 1995, pp. 252-254
Wheat straw has been treated with 1,0% or 1,5% solution of HNO3 at 185
centigrade and substrate/solution weight ratio equal 1,0 and after th
at enzymatically hydrolyzed with use of Trichoderma reesei cellulase.
At optimum conditions 90% of xylan and cellulose to sugar conversion h
as been reached. When substrate/solution weight ratio was 1/3, convers
ion rations were lower. It has been shown that increase in the sugar c
onversion level from 50 to 90% requires at least 5,5 fold increase in
cellulase dose. After 48 hours of enzymatic hydrolysis of wheat straw
at 30 and 50 centigrade the glucose yields were comparable, however th
ey were very different in the beginning.
