Abstract
Aspartokinase feedback-insensitive mutants of Azotobacter vinelandii w ere selected as resistant to L-threonine, beta-hydroxynorvaline, or S- (2-aminoethyl)-L-cysteine. L-Threonine-resistant strains were classifi ed into three groups based on their ability to transport L threonine a nd their growth response to O-methylthreonine and beta-hydroxynorvalin e. Most of the mutants were transport defective; however, some were de sensitized to feedback regulation.
